CASE STUDY #6 - Strayer University

Strayer exterior

In mid-2018, Gateway was approached by CBRE Commercial Real Estate to help secure a new campus for Strayer University.  After looking at various options, Strayer chose a 2,200 square foot space at 303 2nd Avenue and a lease was executed shortly after.  The space was a former antique store and needed extensive renovations to fit their needs.  Strayer retained Gateway to perform construction management of the build out due to their knowledge and history of managing the property in years past.  Gateway bid out the project to multiple general contractors including Building Construction Associates, Inc. (BCA) who was awarded the demo project as well as the reconstruction.  Demo began in fall of 2018, and the former antique store had all interior walls, electrical, and plumbing stripped from the building.  Over the next two months, BCA and their sub-contractors worked seven days a week to deliver class A office space for Strayer.  Construction was complete in late December of 2018, and Strayer was able to open for business just in time for spring semester of 2019.
